We gather every Friday at 9:00am during lent for the Stations of the Cross devotion. This is a community prayer that lasts for thirty minutes and it is followed immediately by the Mass. You are all being encouraged to be part of this spiritually rewarding devotion.
Darren Sylvester, a solicitor from DJS Law Solicitors will be offering free legal advice surgeries here on the last Wednesday of every month between 7.30pm and 9pm. If you would like free, independent, impartial and confidential advice on (for example) debt, employment, housing, consumer rights (the list is not exhaustive) then do attend one of the sessions. No booking is required. Please ring the doorbell at the Parish office.
The Rosary Prayer group is informing Parishioners that the group has started meeting every weekday before Mass to pray the Rosary. The group is inviting Marian devotees and all those who are interested in the Rosary devotion to join them. It is a spiritual journey that you must be part of; with the intercession of Mary through Jesus.
The Cardinal will be inviting to Westminster Cathedral on Saturday 19th May 2018 at 3pm all couples in the Diocese who are celebrating their 5th, 10th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th (and every year over 60) wedding anniversary of catholic marriage in 2018. If you are celebrating an anniversary, please give to Fr. Clement the following details: husband and wife’s names, wedding date, full postal address and email (or telephone number, if no email).
Mary’s Meals wants your unwanted clothing and bedding (no duvets or pillows please) and will be at our church until 11am on Sunday 4th March to collect them all. Put your clothing/bedding into tied sacks and bring them to church where the charity Mary’s Meals will be here to pick them up.
Amazingly 4 full black sacks of good quality clothing will feed a child one good nutritious meal every school day for a whole year! Mary’s Meals is a charity that sets up school feeding programmes in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.
In collaboration with Churches Together/Broxbourne Food bank, we will begin today to collect food in the Parish. A large box will be placed to the right of the altar for you to place your donations which will then be taken to the local food bank. Sadly there is an increasing need for us to support those less advantaged than us. As you may know donations should be tinned or dried foods with a good shelf life. At present they also urgently need:
We hope to continue this ‘Love in Action’ throughout the year.
There will be a second collection next week for CAFOD following Family fast Day on Friday 23rd February. This year your donation will make double the difference. The Government will match fund every pound that you give to CAFOD up to a total of £5 million.
